We are accepting applications to participate in the 2022 Save Michigan History Program! Please see below for more information on this year’s program and how to apply.
Overview
- In 2022, the Save Michigan History program, generously funded by the National Historical Publications & Records Commission (NHPRC), includes individualized consultation with our new Visiting Archivist as well as grant funding (up to $2,500) for the care, management, and access to archival collections.
- The Visiting Archivist will work directly with selected participants to assess challenges and opportunities facing their institution and prioritize next steps and projects.
- Together, the Visiting Archivist and participants will address challenges such as updating collections policies, addressing storage issues, and improving disaster preparedness.
- During the program, the Visiting Archivist will make multiple visits to selected organizations and assist in implementing archival best practices, identifying practical solutions for problem areas, and implementing a project eligible for regrant funding.
- Program timeline is May 2022 to December 2022.
