Burton Historical Collection Cataloging Project

The Michigan State Historical Records Advisory Board (MSHRAB) submitted its final report of the “Down on Main Street” State and National Archival Partnership (SNAP) grant project. MSHRAB completed the project which involved inventorying collections at the Detroit Public Library’s Burton Historical Collection. Two Wayne State University graduate students worked with Burton staff to create the inventories. Descriptive materials, including available catalog records, were attached to the inventories. Burton staff then completed catalog records to over 6,000 manuscript records as part the project.

Postscript: MSHRAB is working to make the catalog searchable in a statewide filter at WorldCat.org. More updates will follow as they are available.
